The Movie League is what you get when trivia night and a game show decide to Netflix and chill! Each Movie League game is played in real time with four people, for coins or Real Money and has been crafted to not only test the movie knowledge of each player, but also their strategic prowess!
The game starts off simple, here’s an example: You would be asked to name an actor that was in the movie Guardians of The Galaxy. Since you love Marvel you would answer correctly and say Chris’s Pratt.
The next player would then be asked to name a movie that Chris Pratt was in, obviously you can no longer use Guardians of The Galaxy! Remember, there is no multiple choice, you can either type your answer or use the speech to text function on your keyboard. We told you, this is not regular trivia.
The game gets even more interesting as players continue to play strategically and choose actors and movies that are more obscure. The game also includes different lifelines which can be used if you don’t know the answer or to trap and eliminate your opponents.
You can play for coins, or for real money if you reside in a state where skill-based gaming is legal. Skill-based gaming is legal in 38 states in the USA and is prohibited only in: Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, South Carolina, South Dakota and Tennessee.
*Real Money games are sponsored solely by The Movie League and TEGGR INC. Apple in no way sponsors any games that take place within the Movie League.
*All game buy-ins both for virtual currency and real currency, include a 10% game fee which is not added to the prize pool. Both types of games pay out the top two of the four players. 1st place receives 3/4 of the prize pool and 2nd place receives 1/4 of the prize pool. Once again, the prize pool constitutes 90% of the buy-ins collected, with 10% of the buy-ins set aside as game fees.
